BOTOX ®

BOTOX® is a non-surgical treatment, the only of its kind that is approved by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that is used to smooth the moderate and sever frown lines that appear between the brows. People between the ages of 18 to 65 can be the recipients of this treatment.
The treatment usually takes about 10 minutes. During this time a few tiny injections are made to the area between the brows. After a couple of days, there will be a noticeable difference. This smoothness of the area between the brows usually lasts up to four months, with different results in each patient.
This treatment reduces the activity of the muscles that cause the frown lines. BOTOX® is a kind of protein and is produced by Clostridium botulinum bacterium.
The upside of this treatment is that there is no surgery, and therefore no recovery time. It can temporarily remove the lines and change the total look of the face.
BOTOX ® was ranked the most popular treatment, among surgical and non surgical procedures, of its kind four years in a row by American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS).
This treatment is not popular just among the movie stars and models. The low cost of it makes it a good choice for all people. In 2005, the number of procedures performed increased by 16% over the year of 2004. The final number of the BOTOX® procedures was about 3.3 million.
